Meet Kari Lewis, owner of Shu-Junkies and Featured Business Owner at SCORE Chicago this week. Learn how she started, and what tips she has for your success.
What is your company’s elevator pitch?
Shu-Junkies is a online store that specializes in high heels, chick and custom shoes as well as everyday footwear for women at affordable prices.
Some of our slogans are “Where HEELS get high!” “Home of sexual heeling.” and “We can heel you!”
What inspired you to start your business?
My inspiration for starting Shu-Junkies stemmed from my love of shoes. I have over 100 pairs of shoes, and I Love How Beautiful, Empowered, and Confident I feel in a pair of stilettos. I wanted other women to feel the same way without “Breaking the Bank,” so I launched Shu-Junkies.net.
Who are your clients, and give an example of how you served that person or business?
My clients are women ages 18-40 years old.
What is your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge is finding creative ways to market and advertise. We have 1,872 followers on Instagram and do sell shoes from it, In YouTube videos, we do fashion shows to show off Shu-Junkie high heels, teach women to walk in heels, and showcase our charitable efforts. We also sell shoes on consignment through selected boutiques and salons.
What advice would you give other entrepreneurs?
Advice I would give to other entrepreneurs is Follow your dream, Be creative, and Never Give up!
What is your website for further info?
