What is your company’s elevator pitch?
LLworldtour: I am an Emmy-award winning TV producer, writer, photographer, speaker, and blogger. I quit my 9-5 job to travel around the world and now I write for various publications as well as work with travel brands to help promote their destinations and products.
LLmedia: I help coach and teach entrepreneurs, small businesses and bloggers on how to create and produce DIY videos on a smaller budget than them having to hire a production company.
Who are your clients, and give an example of how you served that person or business?
LLworldtour: I work with travel companies, tourist boards, travel and tech brands, and publicists. I have worked with brands on digital marketing campaigns (social media, blogging, etc) to promote their brand and create a buzz around their product.
LLmedia: I work with bloggers, entrepreneurs, and some small businesses. I do in-person or online training sessions teaching them the basics of video production (shooting, editing, writing for video) and best practices which give them the tools to create more professional video content.
What is your most successful sales strategy?
My network. From television to traveling the world to my various circles in Chicago, I’ve met many people in all facets of life. I maintain and nurture these relationships naturally and get organic leads from these.
Who is your Mentor and how they have helped you in your business?
Peg Corwin has helped me immensely. She is a wealth of knowledge and resources on the new world of online marketing. I feel very fortunate to know about this program and continue to recommend it.
What advice would you give other entrepreneurs?
You won’t get anywhere if you don’t try. My first TV job at age nineteen was as an intern at the David Letterman show. There is fierce competition to intern there, but I was determined and sent my letter and resume in without knowing anyone there. And I was accepted over hundreds of applicants. This taught me for the rest of my career, that I had nothing to lose by trying. In fact, knowing others may not try, made me think there might be a chance! I’ve been able to get lots of jobs and assignments from sheer perseverance and just trying!
