Meet Linda Saran, Senior Vice President with iCORE Global/Chicago and Featured Business Owner at SCORE Chicago this week.  Learn about her business and what tips she has for your success.

What is your elevator pitch to clients?

As an SVP with the iCORE Global Chicago office of an international full-service real estate brokerage firm, I help buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants to transition their businesses to the next phase, with a focus on industrial properties.

Who are your clients and give an example of how you served that person or business?

We serve a diverse client base, including manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, logistics and transportation companies. We created a strategy for a trucking company‘s growth by meeting their short-, mid- and long-term goals. When we found a property meeting their requirements, we negotiated a one-year lease with purchase option and then found them a tenant for the excess space until they can grow into it.

What is your most successful sales strategy?

I created and work a marketing plan that leverages referrals from satisfied clients and colleagues, strategic cold-calling/canvassing, social media and ongoing communications.

The client is central in my relationship-driven approach. I pursue client real estate goals with a consultant’s advocacy and coach’s partnership.

Who is your Mentor and how they have helped you in your business?

Joel Shabdin has been instrumental in helping me to set my business plan in motion.  Among other marketing/sales initiatives, I also launched the LinkedIn blog Commercial Coach’s Corner, after just a few months of meeting monthly with Joel.

 The blog explores the art of the real estate deal from various industry professionals who participate in the process.  Featured contributors use the blog to market to their networks.  It provides perspective on various industries to my connections.  I gain a deeper and broader understanding of my colleagues’ challenges with deals.  It’s a win-win-win that I’m not sure I would have gotten to if I didn’t have to answer to Joel.

What is the most important lesson you have learned in business that might help others?

To give more than is expected.
