By Peg Corwin
Meet Sara Hauber, owner of the Hauber MethodTM and Featured Business Owner at SCORE Chicago this week. Learn how she started, and what tips she has for your success.
What is your company’s elevator pitch?
The Hauber MethodTM is an online exercise program designed specifically to stop lower back pain and prevent its recurrence. It’s a 6-session, video-based program featuring carefully-explained exercises and stretches.
Who are your clients, and give an example of how you served that person or business?
My clients are usually back-pain sufferers who have been referred by chiropractors, physicians, or physical therapists, or who have simply gotten fed up with not finding relief from other practitioners. They do the Hauber MethodTM exercise program and they feel better 90% of the time.
What is your most successful sales strategy?
My most successful strategy is getting people’s attention after they have tried every other therapy—and those therapies have failed. My clients are desperate to make their pain stop, and they are ready to put in their own work to make it happen, rather than counting on someone else to magically get rid of their pain. They try my program, it works, and they often regret all of the time and money they spent on “treatments” that didn’t work.
Who is your mentor and how they have helped you in your business?
Peg Corwin has helped me in many ways, but most important has been her guidance with social media and Internet visibility. I wish I had 24 hours a day to devote to her great recommendations!
What advice would you give other entrepreneurs?
You have to absolutely love what you do. If you don’t wake up every day looking forward to selling your product or service, find someone who does and hire that person to do it for you.
